today::

collecting bits of daily life. moments i want to remember.

f is for fingers

showed my girl how to finger knit. she wanted to do something real. this did the trick.

h is for hail

may 11 - it hailed. so loud and so long. e had just asked for it to snow and i doubted she'd see ohope white like this.

e is for egg

first eggs from our chickens. speckle, giraffe or chook-chook? e went on to make scrambled eggs for a hobbit breakfast. such goodness.

m is for mess

left the kids to their own outside. nice to hear laughter rather than worries. they're making a glorious watery mess. finn came in with muddy legs and a mouth full of dog food.

f is for feijoas

i'm loving the change of season. feijoas, green easter eggs.

s is for sunday

today had bread making, family fishing, trike rides... all things I love seeing in our kids lives.

s is for sometimes sleep

a reminder that f does sleep. our rhythms are changing and that's ok. i'm learning this. as the days get shorter it seems to be early to bed, early to rise.

o is for outside

~~looking back to april 08~

what to do on the days I find three different personalities going three different ways... change scene and get outside

c is for cutting

amidst the mess on my desk, I found this. my girl has been practising cutting circles.

t is for tea

my new teapot is birds egg blue. it's teamed with some lovely old teacups. loving the old and the new mix that's happening round here.

s is for sling

a morning with no kids. sorted the bedroom. baked some yo-yo biscuits for a friend. sewed a sling for a wee one's dolls. it was a birthday party and a sad goodbye.

g is for goat island reserve

the water was crystal clear and the seaweed like jewels. enjoyed putting my feet in.

c is for cider

my love. having a summer cider. we're moving into autumn now. maybe cider is an autumn drink too.

s is for sewing machine

using her namesake olive's sewing machine. old school singer goodness. a very precious link between generations.

p is for puddles and popcorn

we had a morning of rain dancing and puddle splashing, then inside for popcorn and pots of tea.
