w is for waterslide


they ran and slid and ran and slid. good times. awesome cousin magic.

c is for carols



we sang carols together. four generations. she came running with the ukelele.

m is for making

many hands make light work. and many cups of tea, and many berries of the season.

c is for compliment

was completely humbled with big compliments from a friend i admire. i will graciously accept it. why, thank you!

p is for play

he played and played. we said goodbye to an amazing place. it was time to go.

d is for ducklings

we've got some very gorgeous visitors. they're well loved.

p is for peas


my garden pea eaters. grandad made them a hut with sunflowers and sugar snap peas for walls.

j is for journey

he carried the world. he's been round the sun three times now.

o is for an orange loving 3 year old

he turned three a few days ago. my spirited, knowing, curious, grooving, sweet boy.
there was orange galore.

b is for back again

i've been a.w.o.l. i know. have finished work for the year now so we're transitioning again. a new summertime rhythm. looking forward to it.

c is for christmas

'tis the season! lots of joy here.

w is for water

it felt like summer. there was a lot of outsiding, bare feeting, picnic eating, water splashing. good times.

s is for sock puppet

one of our favourite boy's turned 3. she knew she wanted to make him a sock puppet. she knew she wanted to have an orange tongue and sticky up hair. i love her design.

h is for honeycomb

my brother is keeping bees and making honey. i can't get over how amazing honeycomb is. how amazing nature is.

b is for broad beans

still can't say i like them. but i did enjoy finding the quiet while sitting on the deck in the spring sunshine, prepping them for dinner.

g is for guy fawkes

we celebrated guy fawkes. an english tradition. i can't quite remember the story behind it. but it was a lovely night watching my girl dance with her sparklers.

t is for tuesday

tuesday is athletics. then afterwards it's become picnic pie and playground night. this week some good friends joined us. nice way to catch up.

s is for (feeling) spoilt

it's been busy. they spoiled me big time. to top it off, we had dinner outside on the deck. i'm feeling blessed with love and light.

s is for skimming stones

he had his first skimming stones lesson from his papa. mont the dog was confused why things were being thrown, but not for him.


c is for (her) chooks

"they're my chooks, ay mum" "i'll be in charge of them, ay mum" "i can feed them, ay mum" "they real like me, ay mum"
we got these hens for her birthday about eighteen months ago. this morning she really took ownership. she says she'll share the eggs with us though.

s is for strawberries

the strawberries are ripening. the netting might keep the birds out. not sure it will keep kids out though.

h is for harness

he wanted me to tie the rope around his tummy so he could abseil down the couch-cliff in tandem with tiger. i found my climbing harness for him and he was super stoked.

g is for gran

we celebrated gran becoming 84. there had to be custard squares.

h is for hot

the days are hotting up and my walking buddy is feeling it. he gets his haircut this week.

i is for industrious

i needed to keep industrious to keep myself from worrying too much. it seemed to work.

m is for monster


i love watching her draw. this time it was a monster. a friendly one, of course.

h is for holiday

we've had a lovely two weeks. found a holiday groove. it included no rushing and lots of outside.
i know they really enjoyed hanging out together.

i is for iron

press, press, and press again. this sewing lark keeps my iron going.

f is for feet, floor, family

feeling grounded. bare feet on a floor that tells stories of a family.

c is for crawling

she didn't really crawl as a wee one. but i think she's making up for it, now that she's turned into a puss-cat.

b is for birds

we've been celebrating the birds. bird art, bird walks, bird biscuits, bird books, bird songs, bird craft. bird fest.

c is for chicks

when we arrived they were bubbling with news. it is spring and it seems everywhere you look is life.

f is for friends

we got the call and off we went. a spontaneous hour with friends. none of us wanted to go home.

w is for wildflowers

a paddock of wildflowers is planned. it'll be beautiful.

c is for coin toss

she was delighted that you could flip a coin and it will turn up 'heads' or 'tails'. a simple discovery thanks to grandpa.

m is for mud


just add water, some dirt, sunshine and a sibling. fun times.

f is for fishing

the boy knows how to fish. hold the rod for awhile, pass it to grandad and go check out the picnic.

g is for game

we are a gaming family. tonight my mum, nephew and i got a game in. it's our spring school holidays. a nice change of flow.

s is for sunday

b is for big

i've started my biggest sewing project so far. scary and exciting. hope there's enough orange there for him.

s is for systems

today i sorted. moved furniture. got rid of some things and rehoused others. i've got the systems. i just need to use them.

w is for watching

watching the uncle work in his shed.

e is for (lots of) eggs

the chooks have been busy. it's hard to keep up. i better get busy baking.

p is for pots

lots of pots of spring goodness. the weather seems to be giving us four seasons in one day this week.

m is for mess

oh the mess. this is on a good day. it shows life is being lived right?

v is for visitors

the ones that bake came to visit. they can come back again for sure.

w is for waiting

waiting. wondering. wishing. a quiet moment in a crazy day. keys locked in car, puku-cat to vet, stormy weather. we got through.

h is for harbour love

we love our harbour. i find us connecting with it in different ways throughout the year. it's another place that gives us a base and a rhythm. awesome.

p is for patterns

condensation, morning sunshine and russian dolls making shadows on the blind. just thought the patterns were kinda cool.

s is for seeds

planting seeds at kindy. emi made sure to choose a seed that would grow an orange flower for her brother. sweet girl.
